Q&A session with MP Lee Dillon
We were pleased to welcome Lee Dillon to school last week, where he met with our Student Leadership Group for an engaging Q&A session.
The discussion began with students learning more about what it means to be an MP, how Parliament works and the different routes into politics as a career. Students then led the conversation with thoughtful questions on issues that matter to them most, including education, examinations and how schools can better support young people’s mental health.
The discussion later broadened to national topics, with students asking about how the government is tackling inequality and responding to environmental concerns. It was fantastic to see students speak so confidently, ask challenging questions and engage so thoughtfully with important issues.
We are now looking forward to the next phase of the project, which will involve visiting the Palace of Westminster for a school tour and taking part in a debate hosted by Lee Dillon.
